Chapter one
Every great brand has a moment of origin. Ours happened on an ordinary summer day in 1999, when a 9-year-old boy was swept into a coral reef off the coast of Brazil — and nature stepped in to save him.
Summer, 1999 · Brazil
Nine-year-old Sean Finney was enjoying a perfect day on a Brazilian beach when a powerful wave swept him into a coral reef. The injury was severe.
The nearest hospital was hours away. In that moment of crisis, a local man knelt beside him and pressed something cool and dark into the wound banana sap.
The bleeding stopped. Sean kept his leg.
1999 — 2022 · Personal Use
That moment never left Sean. Over the following decades, he kept returning to banana sap for scrapes, sunburns, cuts.
Every time, it worked.

Sean committed 18 months to unlocking banana sap's full potential for modern skincare.
